Course Objectives

Our one day mental health awareness and skills course qualifies you as an MHFA Champion
MHFA Champions have:

An understanding of common mental health issues
Knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness
Ability to spot signs of mental ill health
Skills to support positive wellbeing

Course Programme

Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, the course is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan.

Everyone who completes the course gets an MHFA manual to keep and refer to whenever they need it, and a certificate to say they are an MHFA Champion.

You’ll also get a copy of the Line Managers' Resource, an invaluable source of advice on how to support an employee experiencing mental ill health.

PLEASE NOTE:

Prior to the start of the course and once you have received your booking confirmation, you will need to provide your name and your email address to managementsupport.hls@coventry.ac.uk giving the date of the course as well.

By doing this you will be providing your email so that a certificate can be sent directly to you on your completion of the course. Your email address will then be shared with MHFA England who generate the certificates for the courses held at Coventry University. This needs to be done before the course starts otherwise you won’t be able to receive your MHFA certificate. If you do not wish to share your email address then we cannot confirm you place on this course with MHFA and then have them generate a certificate for you.

 

Please note there will be a £200 Charge for any delegates booking onto the course who do not attend.
