Mental Health First Aid - Half Day course Course Date: 6 November 2018, 09:00 - 13:00 Course Leader: Gay James Duration of Course: Half day Location: TechnoPark Room CC2.1 TechnoCentre Price: Free Our half day course is an introductory four hour session to raise awareness of mental health Course Objectives This Course is designed to give: An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma. A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues. An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing. Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue Course Deliverables Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities. Everyone who completes the course gets: A manual to refer to whenever they need it A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support their own mental health A certificate of attendance to say they are Mental Health Aware Trainer Profile The trainer for this course is Laraine Epstein PLEASE NOTE: Prior to the start of the course and once you have received your booking confirmation, you will need to provide your name and your email address to managementsupport.hls@coventry.ac.uk giving the date of the course as well. By doing this you will be providing your email so that a certificate can be sent directly to you on your completion of the course. Your email address will then be shared with MHFA England who generate the certificates for the courses held at Coventry University. This needs to be done before the course starts otherwise you won’t be able to receive your MHFA certificate. If you do not wish to share your email address then we cannot confirm you place on this course with MHFA and then have them generate a certificate for you. also: there will be a £200 Charge for any delegates booking onto the course who do not attend. -- To confirm attendance and to avoid any non-attendance charges.
