Foundations in Movement Science Day One – Introduction and Sit to stand

Who should attend

This course is being held in the Feldon Gym at Leamington Spa, Hospital and is for Therapists –Physiotherapist and Occupational therapists.

Course Objectives

An introduction to an evidence based approach to the assessment and treatment of movement in people with stroke. Day one covers the movement of sit to stand, kinematic and kinetic analysis, and training strategies for this task.

Course Deliverables

At the end of the course the participants should be able to:

• Understand what is meant by an evidence based approach
• Describe the Kinematic and kinetics of sit to stand.
• Analyse the missing components and movement problems commonly found with stroke.
• Plan and implement an appropriate training strategy.
