Immunisation Update for Practice Nurses

Who should attend

This course is suitable for first level registered nurses working in General Practice who have undertaken basic Vaccination & Immunisation training previously and now need to update.

Course Objectives

This study day is about current issues in vaccination, recent epidemiology, changes to the National programme/legislation, anaphylaxis management and recognition, review of current practice and identification of areas for improvement, including a question and answer session.

Overview of Content

Current issues in vaccination
Recent epidemiology of vaccine preventable diseases
Any changes to the National Immunisation Schedule/relevant legislation
Update on Vaccine ordering, storage and administration
Anaphylaxis recognition and management
Review of current practice and identification of areas for improvement
Q&A session for commonly encountered problems in practice
