Who should attend

Qualified clinical staff who work directly with children and young people.

Course Objectives

• To understand signs and indicators of child abuse.
• To understand the impact of adult carers physical and mental health upon children.
• To know how to refer to social care if there is a safeguarding children concern.
• To understand the basic child protection process following referral.
• To understand responsibilities around confidentaility and information sharing where there are safeguarding children concerns.
• To understand professionals responsibilitites in safeguarding children.

Four statutory categories of child abuse.
